"Jing"le all the Way!

Christmas celebration in Beijing kicks off early. By mid - December everyone is usually traveling to go back home for the season.

This year there was snowfall on the last day of November which really added to the festive feels.

Shopping and Christmas Fairs

There are multiple fairs and Bazaars around the city held by the Embassies and International Schools.

We try to make it for the German Embassy Bazaar each year. The biggest and most popular one, it is held at the Embassy premises we get to indulge in delicious traditional German food and mulled wine as well as shop for some handmade Christmas decorations.

Apart from shopping at the bazaars, most of the popular supermarket chains like Carrefour, Metro and IKEA carry Christmas decoration and chocolates.
Local markets at Laitai and wholesale market Bairong is also places to check out during this time of the year.
If you are lazy to venture out in the cold, you can get everything at your doorstep via Taobao.

Sharing the feeling of Christmas

We are the few privileged or blessed ones who look forward to spending the season with our families.
There are a few who we can share our smiles with. If we can gift them our time it can make a world of difference to them. This year too we visited the Old age and Orphanage at Cangzhou and Renqiu to spread some Christmas Cheer.

Wishing you all a very Warm and Merry Christmas and let's hope for a peaceful and happy 2020!
Cheers!
