Review: Page one and The Woodhouse

With the number of restaurant reviews or posts I've on my blog, you'll would have guessed we are foodies.
There are new restaurants coming up every now and then, and we also find some of our old favorites not being the same as before and some of them even shutting down...

I've mentioned how we love the Bookworm in Sanlitun. A nice place to read a book and have some coffee...

Most new comers in Beijing always ask where to go to buy English books or magazines and I always used to direct them to the Bookworm.

The  Page One   ( a bookstore chain popular in this side of Asia ) has opened up a branch in the Village, Sanlitun. (the other branches are in the Indigo mall Lido and China World Guomao)
It has a large collection of books of every category also reasonably priced. You can sit there all day and read, but it isn't a library like the Bookworm. So if you want to take a book home, you'd have to buy it.

Next to Page one, the same group has opened up the restaurant called "The Woodhouse".

We tried it for brunch last Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. The place is clean, service is quick and efficient and not too noisy. They give you tablets to view the menu, the Wi-Fi is fast and free. They have high chairs and cutlery for toddlers (which is important to us when we now choose place to eat at as we have a super active 11 month old)

They have a nice collection of soups and salads as well as really tasty and good looking desserts.
Downside is Fresh juice is 40 rmb which is a bit steep according to me. Brunch for two would come up to 250 rmb.

I'd say if you're in Sanlitun on a lazy Sunday afternoon,  head to Page One to browse around the store and then head to The Woodhouse for some grub.

Among the other restaurants we recently tried, I can't help mention about the Green Tea Restaurant at Shimao mall in Sanlitun. Cheap and delicious Chinese food. The day we went we were just so excited about the food I couldn't click pictures.Captured a  few hazy ones on my phone but aren't clear enough to put up on the blog.We will definitely be going there over and over again so I'll definitely put up a post about it soon...

By the way , if you still haven't noticed... We love Food ;-)
